[The hawk has emerged from his nest, from drinking, from spending time with Natasha and generally from shooting away his emotions and feelings.
Besides, an inmate. And he knows exactly what he wants to ask for. Have Clint, wearing a uniform-his SHIELD fatigues.]
So that was a breach.
I'd like to apologize because-
[thoughtful pause] ...I'd just like to apologize period. [He looks like he wants to say more but feelings are hard for SHIELD agents so he just turns off the feed and goes to send off his PMs.
[Private to Dick Grayson]
...I'm gathering from network chatter that something went down. When you uh- when you get a minute I'd like to buy you a drink by means of apology. That-
That's not me. Period. But I'm gathering that's a common thing. So when you get a minute the offer's on the table I guess.
[Awkward shuffling] I would have beaten me senseless. Thanks for the restraint.
[Private to Rose Wilson]
...Someone once told me the best way to get to know someone was to beat the crap out of them. Or at least give them a chance to beat the crap out of you. If you're not up to sparring however name your preferred method of getting together and I'll be there.
[Private to Captain America]
...I've spent the last six days.. [drinking like a fish] Can we talk?
[Private to Natasha]
I have an inmate. That means a deal. I don't- [He has some ideas of what to ask for but.] ...I dunno, what to ask for.
[since by his count he and Captain America are the only people with warden deals-and Captain America doesn't have an inmate.] It seems kind of selfish to say "Hey can I go back in time so my girlfriend doesn't turn out to hate me or my brother doesn't turn into some kind of strange underworld assassin." when our world is invaded by aliens and things are changing.
[Private to Agent Kay]
...I have a feeling our...counterparts had history and I'd like to apologize for anything he said to you. That.. [He rubs his head] that was a part of me I'd like to forget and he was in essence someone who I've sort of disowned back home so.
[Private to the Admiral]
If I have to live through it I will but if I help my inmate...how many of them can you bring back? Is it a life for a life thing or what?

Re: [Spam]
[He sets the drink down.] ...You were responsible for getting her into that teenage super...hero group.
[He looks mildly amused] what's the legal term for that kind of an organization anyway?
[Spam]
I was one of the founding members of the Titans at fourteen, and it's been an organization that's been in place on and off since then. Technically, at my point in the timeline, I hadn't told her to join them yet, but it was something I was considering, because the Titans has given a lot of kids a sense of community and belonging they can't get at home, for whatever reason. It's a family. And that's what Rose needs.
Although, apparently- [And he is cracking the top on the Coke and looking kind of frustrated.] Something went wrong along the way there and she left.
Re: [Spam]
He never expected to even think along those lines.]
...She didn't feel accepted.. Nearest I can come to describing it. I think I'd like you to go over her file but...
If there's one thing I've learned when you're dealing with people who have lived the kind of life she's lived it's...trust early on is really important. Have you and she gotten back in touch? She knows you're here right?

Re: [Spam]
Look. I just- [He sighs] I don't...I didn't expect to get a kid. I mean she's young. I feel a little like a parent though and that's way out of my league.
I'd like, eventually to put you and she back in touch but for now...is there anything you can tell me that you feel might be important? ...Something I can use?
[Spam]
I understand it's hard when you get assigned a young inmate, but you're not her parent, and treating her like a kid isn't going to get you anywhere. Rose needs someone who's going to be there for her and be a role model, and yeah, you need to set an example and boundaries for her, but she's not a kid. I know it's a fine line to walk, but it's what you have to do if you're going to get through to her. [At some point down the line, Rose might come to think of him as family or something, but he feels like heading down that line at first might be a disaster considering, well. Everything. :|]

I know it's weird, talking to your inmate for the first time, and I'm glad you want advice on how to do it, but these are the kind of judgment calls you need to make for yourself, at the end of the day.

[Somewhere Nick Fury is shaking his head. Give hawkeye free reign? That's a bad idea-or at least in his estimation. That's his however.]
Is there anything else you think I ought to know? Sleep with one eye open, that kind of thing?
